This C-47 Dakota flew numerous parachutists to Normandy on D-Day 1944. It is one of the few flightworthy aircraft of the allied invasion at that time. In memory of that historic moment, we would like to have this machine fly over Birmenstorf, too, when the Convoy of 2016 takes place.
But: this will cost a penny. We would like to schedule this event but that requires fans willing to pay, who are prepared to participate in the transfer flight of several hours and/or in the circuit flights in Switzerland. On the transfer flight from England to Switzerland, among other things, a low-level flight over the invasion beaches and an intermediate landing in Normandy is intended. Magali Schaffner will be pleased to inform you about the offer and the cost. Application deadline is the end of April.
